The MAWIB’s Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from various segments of business, education, labor and community-based organizations. MAWIB’s board members are appointed by the mayor and work in tandem with the State of Wisconsin to develop policies and guidelines, and to provide oversight of the local workforce investment system.
Under the direction of these community leaders, MAWIB implements the principles of the Workforce Investment Act as dictated by the workforce needs in Milwaukee County. As a result, local residents gain access to career opportunities and employers can build the workforce they need for success.
The Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board of Directors has four sub-committees: Executive Committee, Governance Committee, Personnel & Finance Committee, and the Program Committee.
